O. M. Garage!

So our garage.  It was a disaster when we moved in, but so was the rest of the house, so we decided that the areas we had to live in would get first priority and the garage would get done…eventually.  Fast forward almost 6 years later, and you’ll see a few improvements (remember our hanging bins?), but no major progress.  Well, the rapidly approaching arrival of our little one made us realize that once she is a part of our lives, major projects will be much harder to find time for.  I mean really, do we think we’ll be able to tear ourselves away from those cute little smiles and fingers (and diaper duty) any time soon?  So now all those projects that were labeled “someday” have all been moved to the “immediately” line.

Now that we’re on a mission (and by we, I mean Joseph) to clean up and organize our garage, here’s a few things we (he) accomplished today:

Completely disorganized, rickety shelves with spiders everywhere!

Everything removed and organized into a rolling toolbox (with love from Kendra's parents). The shelves are now ready for demo.

Rather than hunting around the garage for tools we use regularly, Joseph decided to mount them right next to the door into the house for easy access

To keep his screwdrivers handy and organized, Joseph drilled holes in a 2x3 and labeled each of the slots.

Hopefully we’ll have even more progress to show off next week, as we tackle demo, peg boards, de-spidering, and new shelves.
