On our final day at Lake Tahoe we decided to take one more walk on the beach and down the pier. Once again, the weather and the water were perfect. We originally intended to just take the walk and avoid the water since we were packing up to drive back home, but convincing two black labs two stay out of a lake while walking right past it was pretty difficult, so we gave in and went for one last swim. Poor Fish — Joseph kept finding rocks and tossing them into the water. Fish thought these were supposed to be fetch toys, so when he couldn’t see them floating he started doing a kind of snorkeling maneuver to try and find them, to no avail. We thought it was hilarious, but Fish was rather bemused. Finally, it was time to start our trek south. Fish and Ares did the get the chance to enjoy some desert romping, though they were tired enough that they spent most of the time asleep in the backseat. Another 8 1/2 hour drive, many miles desert scenery, and several herds of cows in the road later we arrived safely home.
